Prevent The Spread of Leptospirosis

After Typhoon “Sendong” brought destruction in the city of Cagayan de Oro, many were confined at the hospital due to Leptospirosis disease. According to my research, a Leptospirosis is a disease transmitted to people from animals. The infection is commonly transmitted to humans by allowing water that has been contaminated by animal urine to come in contact with unhealed breaks in the skin. The question is, how can we prevent this from contaminating our families and our fellow citizens? Are full supplies of vitamins in our body is enough? I don’t know…only medical expert can answer that. But still, vitamins are important in times like this.  In my own point of view, we should avoid ourselves in going to areas affected by the typhoon without the proper paraphernalia attached on our body, like wearing a boots and mask, chances are, you will get infected.

Symptoms of this kind of disease are very common like; Flu, fever, chills and intense headache. If you experience these kinds of symptoms especially if you are exposed to areas where the contamination was high, consult your doctor right away.

leptos is basically transmitted through body fluids, and you get infected by it through skin openings and breaks. you're right, it's better to avoid floods, and if unavoidable, make sure to be geared up :)
